During a session, your blood is drawn through a sterile IV line. A medical-grade machine separates the liquid part of your blood, called plasma, from your blood cells. The old plasma, which contains toxins, inflammatory proteins, and cellular waste, is removed. It's replaced with clean albumin and fresh replacement fluid. Your blood cells are returned to your body along with it.
